Homemade Ice Cream 1

I'm cheating here - Mom sent these to me this week, so I thought I would post them for everyone.

In a large saucepan combine:
2 C Milk
2 C Heavy cream
1 1/2 C Sugar
2 Envelopes of unflavored gelatin (Know)
1/4 tsp salt
Cook and stir over med heat until the mixture almost comes to a boil (little bubbles will form around edge of saucepan)

Combine, then add to saucepan:
1 C of the hot mixture from saucepan
2 Beaten eggs
Cook 2 or more minutes on med heat. Cool completely.
Beat in:
2 C Cold milk
2 C Cold heavy cream
Add vanilla 2 Tbsp just before you put into ice cream canister.

Add chocolate, candy bars, fruit, cookies, nuts, etc.
