Teddy Bear Bread

Makes 2 bears.

Mix together until smooth
1/2 C warm milk
3 T sugar
3 T melted margarine
1 T yeast
1 1/2 C warm water
2 t salt
3 C flour

Stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough (3 1/2-4 C)
Knead 8-10 minutes. Let rise until double- approximately 1 hour.
Punch down and divide into 4 equal pieces. Two pieces are bodies.
Divide the two remaining pieces and two of those are heads.
Divide the remaining dough into 14 pieces- 4 ears, 4 feet, 4 hands, 4 ears, 2 noses.
Cover. Let rise until double- about one hour. Make indentations for ears. Place raisins for eyes and belly buttons. Mix 1 egg and 1 T water and brush on bear for a golden gloss.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool.
(I like to tie a bow around the neck for Christmas gifts.)

This little bear would be puffier but the power went out and I put them in the freezer for a while-- it stunted the growth
